A Message from God

Heart-to-Heart
Have you ever heard the saying, “They are so close that they are connected at the hip”?
When I was a little girl, I loved staying overnight at the home of my sister, Carolyn. She was the oldest of five children and I was the youngest therefore I looked up to her like a mother. I remember calling her “China” because I couldn’t pronounce her name. I went everywhere she went following her around like a puppy dog wanting attention. Our mother always said that I was connected to her hip!
This morning during my quiet time I thought of those special memories and the bond that I still have with my “big sister”. Even though we don’t get to see each other like we did when I was a little girl, she still holds that special place in my heart and always will. I’m still connected to her hip!
That’s the same kind of relationship I desire with my Heavenly Father. I want to be so close to Him that other people say, “She loves God so much it’s like she’s connected at the hip”. Isn’t that the kind of relationship God desires with us? To be so in love with Him that we never want to leave His side?
Let’s Pray
Heavenly Father,
Help me to remember that childhood faith in the big things and small things that I face in my life…the kind of faith that reminds me that you are walking right next to me and we are connected at the hip.
